Bowling and beer have enjoyed a long association. This gallery explores that partnership. Many of the locations shown here aren’t traditional bowling centers; they may be best described as bars and taverns that happen to have a few lanes in the back. It’s interesting to note that Wisconsin leads the U.S. in the number of these “bowling bars,” with more than 80 (as of July 2018, when many of the Wisconsin photographs in this gallery were made).
